20 things your vibe coded app needs to hit $10K MRR

The v1 is done. Here's the other 90% that takes you from zero to $10K mrr.

The v1 is done. Here’s the other 90% that takes you from zero to $10K mrr.

1. User authentication. Not just a login screen. Email verification, password resets, session expiry, account deletion. One screen becomes ten flows.

2. User profiles. What can users see, edit, delete? Notification preferences? Each one is a feature hiding inside “accounts.”

3. Admin panel. Who bans accounts, processes refunds, monitors errors? You need a protected backend only you can access. Most builders find this out after launch.

4. Roles and permissions. Free users, paid users, admins, moderators. Each needs different access, different views, different database rules.

5. Database design. Schema decisions made on day one are painful to change with live users. Get it wrong early and you rebuild everything.

6. Backups. Your users’ data is your responsibility the moment they sign up. What happens if something corrupts at 2am?

7. Payments. Not just a Stripe button. Failed charges, cancellations, free trials, refunds, tax across 40+ countries.

8. Pricing model. Freemium, subscription, one-time. This shapes your entire database and onboarding. Changing it after launch is brutal.

9. Onboarding flow. A confusing first five minutes kills retention before you get a chance.

10. Email system. Welcome emails, receipts, re-engagement. You need Resend or SendGrid wired up before launch.

11. Push notifications. Too much and users leave. Too little and they forget you exist.

12. Third party APIs. Every one adds rate limits, costs at scale, and failure points. When they go down, your features break.

13. Rate limiting. Without this, one bad actor can take your app down or run up your costs overnight.

14. Error monitoring. Tools like Sentry tell you when something breaks before your users do.

15. Analytics. Do you know which features users actually use? Where they drop off? Without this you’re building blind.

16. GDPR and privacy. Cookie banners, privacy policies, data deletion requests. Required by law in many countries.

17. Terms of service. What are users agreeing to? What happens if they abuse the platform?

18. Security. Exposed API keys, broken authentication, unencrypted data. One breach undoes everything you shipped.

19. Scalability. Your app works for 10 users. Does it work for 10,000? Queries that feel fast in testing collapse under real load.

20. Customer support. Where do users go when something breaks? An email, a chat widget, a help doc. This needs to exist before you need it.

Many, if not all, of it shows up the moment real users arrive.

The builders who go from app to business are not the ones who built the best UI. They’re the ones who planned for the second 90%.
