Choosing the right course software can make or break your ability to scale your business. Trust me, I’ve been there. I started out with Teachable, but as my business grew, I realized it couldn’t keep up with my needs. The switch to Kajabi was time-consuming and expensive, but ultimately, it transformed the way I run my online business.

If you’re in research mode, wondering if Kajabi is the right fit for you, here are the 10 things you need to know before buying Kajabi in 2025. Let’s dive in. (grab 30 days extended trial here)

1. Kajabi Pricing in 2025

Kajabi’s pricing has become much more beginner-friendly. They recently introduced the Kickstarter Plan, which lets you get started for just $55/month (billed annually) or $69/month (billed monthly). This plan gives you one product, making it a great entry point if you’re just starting out.

For more advanced needs, Kajabi’s Basic Plan (three products) or Growth Plan (15 products) offer scalability as your business grows. Personally, I use the Growth Plan and love its flexibility and features. If you’re serious about scaling, the Kickstarter Plan is a solid first step, and upgrading later is seamless.

2. The New Downloads Feature

Kajabi introduced a Downloads feature this year, but I’m not a fan. Here’s why: it counts as a product, meaning it takes up one of your product slots. If you’re offering small digital downloads like PDFs or templates, I recommend creating a simple landing page and automating delivery instead.

This workaround gives you unlimited downloads without using a product slot. Unless your downloads are part of a high-ticket offer, skip this feature for now.

Building a newsletter has never been easier. Kajabi’s Newsletter Feature allows you to create free or paid newsletters—or even a mix of both. This is perfect for growing your email list while generating passive income.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or transitioning from another platform, this tool makes newsletters straightforward and profitable. Definitely worth exploring.

4. Enhanced Community Features

Community is everything, and Kajabi has upped its game. Their new Community Features let you create circles to segment members, host live meetups, run challenges, and more. You can even embed community discussions directly into your courses.

With students accessing both course content and community discussions in one place, engagement has never been easier. If building a strong, collaborative community is part of your business strategy, Kajabi has you covered.

5. Kajabi Payments

Kajabi now offers Kajabi Payments, streamlining your checkout process. It supports credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay, and Klarna, giving your customers flexibility while ensuring you get paid in full upfront.

What’s even better? Kajabi Payments can calculate and collect sales tax for you—a game-changer if you sell to multiple regions. While the processing fees are similar to Stripe, the added features make it a worthwhile option.

6. Send Invoices Directly from Kajabi

By popular demand, Kajabi now allows you to create and send invoices directly from your dashboard. This is perfect for managing client work or custom offers. It’s easy to set up, and having this feature built into your software eliminates the need for separate tools.

7. Kajabi’s AI Assistant (EMA)

In 2025, AI is reshaping course creation, and Kajabi’s EMA makes it faster than ever. EMA can generate course outlines, modules, offer pages, and even your first promo email. While it’s not the best AI on the market (Thinkific and LearnWorlds might have an edge), it’s still an excellent tool to speed up your workflow.

8. Creator Studio

Kajabi’s Creator Studio promises to repurpose long-form content into 40+ assets, from social media posts to mini-courses. While it’s a great concept, the execution needs improvement. For now, Creator Studio works best for creating subtitles, transforming workshops into mini-courses, or generating text-based content. Video editing capabilities still require manual tweaks.

9. Create a Branded App

If you’re ready to level up, Kajabi now allows you to create your own branded app. This is ideal for businesses with large audiences looking to offer a seamless, premium experience. While the pricing is steep, it’s comparable to competitors and offers incredible functionality like in-app purchases, push notifications, and access to courses and communities.

10. Email Marketing Made Simple

Kajabi’s email marketing tools rival standalone platforms like ConvertKit but with better integration and usability. You can create beautiful emails, segment your audience, and even A/B test subject lines and content. Plus, automations allow you to create funnels triggered by specific actions, like downloading an ebook.

With Kajabi’s all-in-one system, you save both money and time by eliminating the need for third-party email software.

Bonus: Upsell and Downsell Features

Kajabi’s upsell and downsell capabilities can significantly boost your income. Offering a complementary product or service during checkout is one of the easiest ways to increase your average order value. For example, I’ve doubled my sales by offering coaching calls and templates as upsells.

Final Thoughts: Is Kajabi Worth It in 2025?

If you’re looking for an all-in-one platform that scales with your business, Kajabi is still one of the best options available. Whether you’re starting out with the Kickstarter Plan or ready to go all-in with a branded app, Kajabi offers flexibility, support, and the tools you need to succeed.
